Terms of service.

These terms apply to the ClearMind app and to haveclearmind.com. Installing the app, starting a subscription, or using the free tools on this website means you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use ClearMind.

ClearMind is a self-help tool that helps you avoid pornography by making it harder to reach and by tracking your progress. It is not therapy, not medical treatment, and it does not diagnose, treat, or claim to cure anything. If you are struggling in a way that needs a professional, please talk to one — the Learn section lists resources, but it is not a substitute for them.

You must be at least 17 years old, or the age of legal majority where you live if that is higher, to use ClearMind. By using it, you confirm that you meet this requirement. If you set it up for someone younger, for example a teenager with a parent’s involvement, you are responsible for that decision and for holding the accountability partner code yourself.

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use ClearMind on devices you own or control, for your own use. You agree not to reverse-engineer, decompile, or circumvent the app’s protections or its unblocking flow other than by completing that flow as designed, and not to use the app for anything unlawful.

No app can make anything on a phone permanently and completely impossible to reach, and we do not claim ClearMind can. It works in layers — a content filter, a private DNS layer, and a deliberately slow flow for turning protection off — so that one layer failing does not remove the others, and it tells you when a layer is switched off outside the app. Its purpose is friction, giving an impulse time to pass, not an unbreakable fortress.

Adding an accountability partner is optional and entirely your choice. You are responsible for who you invite and for what you tell them outside the app. A partner receives only the limited information described in the Privacy Policy — never your browsing, journal, or anything you wrote — and setting or removing one is gated by the same unblocking flow as turning protection off.

Paid features are sold and billed by the Apple App Store or Google Play, not directly by us. The price and billing period are shown before you buy. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel; cancel at any time from your App Store or Play Store account settings, and access continues until the period you already paid for ends.

Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies; if a store refunds a purchase, your access ends as soon as we are notified of it, because that is the honest reading of a refund. We may change prices for future billing periods, with notice given through the store.

The breathing ritual, the course, and the timeline on this website are free, require no account, and will stay that way regardless of whether the app or a subscription exists. The app itself may offer free and paid tiers; what sits behind a subscription is described where you subscribe, not here.

ClearMind, its design, its content, and its code belong to us or our licensors and are protected by copyright and other laws. These terms do not transfer any of that to you beyond the license described in “Using the app.” Anything you write in a journal entry or a “why” stays yours; we do not read it, and we make no claim to it.

ClearMind is provided as is, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or effective for any particular person. Blocking technology depends on operating-system behaviour we do not control, and a browser, app, or OS update can change what it is able to do.

To the fullest extent the law allows, ClearMind and the people who build it are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app or this website, including a relapse, a missed block, or a loss of data. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or a nominal amount if you paid nothing. Nothing here limits a liability the law does not allow to be limited.

ClearMind is not equipped for emergencies. If you are in crisis or at risk of harming yourself or someone else, contact local emergency services or a crisis line in your area rather than this app.

You can stop using ClearMind at any time by uninstalling it and cancelling any subscription through the App Store or Play Store. We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, misuse the accountability partner feature to harm someone, or use the app unlawfully.

We may update these terms as the app changes. If a change is significant, we will say so on this page before it takes effect. Continuing to use ClearMind after a change means you accept the new terms; if you do not, stop using it and cancel any subscription. Last reviewed 2026-09-21.

These terms are governed by the law of the country or state where you legally reside, to the extent that law applies to a consumer agreement like this one, without regard to conflict-of-law rules; nothing here removes a protection that law gives you and does not allow you to waive. If a provision of these terms is found unenforceable where you live, the rest remain in effect. We will try to resolve any dispute directly, and would rather hear about it first than read about it somewhere else.
