How the blocking works
Four layers, so that losing one does not lose the rest.
Each layer covers a gap the one above it cannot reach, and each is watched. That is the honest version of what a blocker on a phone you control can do.

A filter at the system level
On iPhone it is the Screen Time content filter every iOS browser has to honour — Safari, Chrome, Firefox, Brave, and anything else that renders a web page. On Android it reads the address bar of known browsers and steps in before a page loads, incognito included.

A private DNS layer beneath it
A family-safe resolver answers for every app on the phone, including the browser inside Instagram or Telegram, where a content filter cannot reach. On Android it is a DNS-only tunnel with a local blocklist — no traffic is routed anywhere else.

Turning it off takes eight steps
Timed screens, the reason you wrote on day one, a sentence typed by hand, a cool-down you chose while calm, a ten-second hold. Every one of the eight steps offers you the chance to stay, and the cool-down is usually longer than the impulse.

It notices when something gives way
Delete it, revoke a permission, switch a layer off in Settings — you are told, plainly, and a repair screen takes you to the exact setting that needs turning back on. A partner, if you chose one, is told too.

No. The breathing ritual runs entirely in your browser and keeps no record of having been used. Reading a lesson does not create an account, a profile, or an email list. Closing the tab leaves nothing behind that points back at you.
